How to Find the Right Medical Equipment Supplier: A Comprehensive Guide

We will always remember the day when we felt our blood literally boiling after visiting a local care home, who had just invested over £2,000 on 2 specialist ‘high risk pressure relieving chairs via a flyer which had landed on their doorstep, and thinking this offer is just too good to be true, for the price they paid.

We did some research, spoke to the manufacturers and discovered that, as we suspected, the care home had been mis sold. The ‘high risk’ chairs they thought they’d received were, in fact, manufactured with ‘low risk’ pressure relieving cushions. There was only a slight difference in the labelling that identified them as low risk rather than high risk, but the price point didn’t make sense, they paid low risk price for a high risk product and it just couldn’t be done.

The supplier had absolutely ripped them off!!!

This made us really angry because at the end of the day that would be impacting on vulnerable peoples ‘care. These people, who needed high-risk equipment, but because the care home had been mis-sold, wouldn’t be getting the care that they needed which could have a serious impact on their health and wellbeing.

This highlighted and reminded us how important it is, that you know and more importantly TRUST who you’re dealing with when sourcing vital medical and care equipment, and this prompted us to PRODUCE an article about things to think about when you’re searching for reputable medical equipment suppliers to work with.

Striking the right balance between cost and value is essential for long-term satisfaction

6. Customer Service and Support:

Excellent customer service is crucial when working with a medical equipment supplier. Consider the supplier's responsiveness, accessibility, and willingness to address your inquiries or concerns. Evaluate their ability to provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and timely delivery of products. A reliable supplier should be a collaborative partner who is committed to ensuring your facility's success.

7. Reliability and Timeliness:

Reliability and timely delivery are vital when it comes to medical equipment procurement. Evaluate the supplier's track record in fulfilling orders promptly and meeting deadlines. Delays or inconsistency in product availability can disrupt operations and impact patient care. Choose a supplier with a proven track record of reliability and timely delivery.

In the ever-evolving healthcare industry, it is crucial to work with a supplier that can adapt to your changing needs.
